One of the most important components of your study club will be the advisory board. Composed of noncompeting specialists and restorative doctors who may be considered specialists in all but name, this group provides input and treatment planning ideas during study club clinical sessions and to members individually, and gives ongoing feedback to the director about member progress and whether certain individuals need more attention. They also often serve as a bridge in either direction between specialists and general practitioners.
The most important members of the advisory board are your restorative advisors.
You could choose a prosthodontist, but many clubs excel when partnering with highly skilled general dentists. They can often relate more readily to club members and are less likely to be intimidating.
