Administration
Simply put, the coordinator runs the study club. This means creating, organizing and maintaining all club materials and records—marketing materials, membership rosters, accounting and financial reports, program and venue information, speaker contacts, and member communications.
Public Relations
The coordinator seeks opportunities to represent your practice and club favorably to your community via writing and producing newsletters and press releases, hosting open houses, developing a club website, or setting up public speaking engagements.
Event Planning
The coordinator is responsible for every aspect of your study club meetings except determining who the presenter will be. He/she finds and works with the venue, the caterer, and the A/V supplier (if you do not have the necessary A/V in-house), and handles the speaker arrangements once you have made the initial contact and agreed upon the financial details with the speaker.
Relationship Building
The coordinator not only assists you in building your relationships with the dentists in the club, but also seeks to build professional contacts with the doctors and their staff members in order to enhance the bonds between your office and theirs. That contact with doctors will most likely be occasions when you are also present, but lunches, training with other staff members for a charity run, creating a book club, or setting up a Saturday cooking class with a local celebrity chef are some of the many options to establish personal relationships with the staff members of other offices.
Liaison
The coordinator acts as a liaison between your club members and Seattle Study Club corporate headquarters. Whether circulating information about events and programs or attending national meetings to increase understanding of and insight into the Seattle Study Club concept, your coordinator helps you and your members stay abreast of what is happening in the network as a whole.
